How to get removed

  1. Email dpo@criteo.com from the address you normally browse with, or write to the Paris address.
  2. Say you are a UK resident exercising the right to erasure (Art. 17) and the right to object to profiling for direct marketing (Art. 21).
  3. Criteo identifies people by an advertising ID rather than a name — ask them to look up and delete the Criteo user ID held for your browser and devices.
  4. Ask for a copy of the profile first if you want to see what is held before it goes.
  5. Repeat from every browser and device you use: the identifier is per-device.

Builds behavioural and purchase-intent profiles across a very large retail network. There is no listing to search for yourself in, which is why most people assume it does not concern them. If you shop online in Britain, it probably does.

Most people-search sites keep buying fresh public records, and Criteo is one of them — a new identifier is created the next time you browse without opting out. A removed listing can reappear months later under a new URL. The reliable fix is cutting off the source where you can — in the UK that is the open electoral register — and re-checking on a schedule.
